I never knew these
scenes existed,
but they explain
a great deal.
| These
scenes were filmed but not aired, not even in the Euro-minutes. I
saw them courtesy of Maureen Russell at StanCon 1 (aka 2001 Fan Appreciation).
I apologize for paraphrasing; I don’t have a copy of the scenes
to refer to, and although I’m a quick study, it was an intense weekend.
Outdoors, in front
of a stone wall. Kronos and Methos (in VERY bad wigs) bend over a
body, and Methos takes a scroll from the dead man’s clothes.
Kronos accuses Methos of becoming too Greek (setting the time frame).
Methos says this is what immortality is about; having time to learn everything.
Methos gives Kronos
a cup of wine that he's poisoned. He tells Kronos he wants to leave
the Horsemen. Kronos tells him if he leaves the Horsemen, he’ll have
to leave his head behind. They fight, and Kronos becomes ill.
Not able to kill him, Methos puts his body in a well on holy ground and
locks an iron grill over the mouth of the well.
Centuries later,
we see monks dropping bread and water into the well to feed the demon.
Kronos lures one of them back and convinces him to open the grate.
Kronos emerges, kills the monk, and escapes.
Most of all, it adds to the depth of the relationship between Methos and Kronos, and explains more that Methos couldn’t kill Kronos. Again, TPTB decide we don’t need to know where the characters are coming from. |
